ROOT CANAL TREATMENT in QUEENS PARK PAIN SOLVED

It’s well-known that bacteria in the mouth can result in a build-up of plaque, which then causes decay. Once tooth decay has set in, the resulting cavity can cause lots of problems in the mouth, often leading to infection, pain and sensitivity. A root canal can help with this, as well as helping to save the tooth, preventing the need for extraction in the future.

Many patients don’t even realise they need a root canal – it’s something that is often discovered during treatment for something else, or a general check-up. For others, however, pain may be experienced, and a hole seen or felt in the tooth.

Here at The Doctor’s Method, we want all our patients to enjoy a clean, comfortable mouth free from pain and sensitivity and you can be sure we’re committed to the health and happiness of every smile we see. With us, you can expect judgement-free, supportive treatment, helping ensure your teeth, mouth and gums are cared for as they should be.

ROOT CANALS AT
THE DOCTOR’S METHOD

At our dental practice, we see cases of root canal on a regular basis. Decay amongst adults is incredibly common, with reportedly 31% of adults showing signs. Here’s what you can expect when you book in with our specialist team.

  • First, we’ll take a look at your tooth and assess whether further treatment (e.g. an extraction) is required
  • The area will be cleaned and the infection cleared before a filling is fitted. Our fillings are moulded perfectly to your tooth to ensure they function well.
  • If further treatment is required which can’t be carried out at the time, we’ll book you in for a follow-up appointment.

ROOT CANAL TREATMENT IN LONDON Frequently Asked Questions

  • How long does treatment take?

Root canal treatment can be complex, so it’s best to allow at least an hour for your treatment. It’s also possible that the tooth can become damaged (for example, cracked) during your treatment, which may require extraction.

  • Does treatment hurt?

We use an anaesthetic to carry out your treatment, which means you’ll likely only feel the sensation of pressure. Following the procedure, over-the-counter medicines can manage any pain. You could also try a sensitive toothpaste.

  • Will I need a root canal in the future?

It’s possible – and other teeth could succumb to the problem in the future, too. The best way to safeguard against this type of treatment is to have check-ups regularly and to ensure you care for your teeth properly. Keep an eye on any signs of sensitivity, pain and decay.

  • Can I choose not to have root canal treatment?

It’s not recommended. If an infection has already set it, it can develop into an abscess and potentially, loss of the tooth.

  • Why choose you?

All our treatments are provided by a fully-trained, skilled and experienced dental professional. With bespoke care, we can ensure the best outcome and right choice for you.
